 Good basic knife and scissor sharpener September 7, 2010

Got this product based on the reviews. So simple to use my dad has now taken to sharpening the knives and scissors (which has saved me the time)! For that alone its worth the price. Ended up buying a second for myself when dad not so subtly decided to keep the other one.

This sharpener is handy, simple to use, well balanced reasonably priced and actually works to keep knives sharp - very sharp!
Of the many kinds I have tried, this is the best and I highly recommend it to all of you with dull knives. It sharpens scissors too - and easily.

I am very pleased with this sharpener. I am sure I could have found a cheaper one, but this one works as it is supposed to, on all knives and scissors.

I got this after taking a Wusthof knife skills class from Sur La Table. With taking the class, you received a free 6 inch chef's blade. I had pulled the teacher aside and asked how to keep the knife's edge, she recommended that this product. It works excellently. I do recommend that you take your knives to a professional once a year to get a nice clean edge on it, but this is an excellent backup. Also to use your honing steel everytime you use your blade. I always loved Wusthof and they make amazing products. I haven't used the scissor sharpener yet.

I had never sharpened any knives and was quite nervous, but this tool was easy to use and very effective. Both my cheap and fancy knives work perfectly now. Also, it sharpens right and lefty scissors, excellent! Lefties rejoice!
